Fiber inventory that stays connected

MapItRight models how outside plant actually works: strands, splices, splitters, MUX/DEMUX, patch panels, and drops linked end to end on Google Maps — not just lines on a basemap. Trace light paths, manage Planned and Active plant, and keep field updates in one private source of truth.

The problem

Why generic asset tools fail for fiber networks

Spreadsheets cannot hold connectivity

ERP and spreadsheet inventories list parts and quantities. Fiber operations need to know which strand connects through which splice to which customer drop. One wrong splice record breaks traces across the whole network.

Generic GIS flattens the plant model

Drawing cables as polylines in a general-purpose GIS loses strand-level detail, patch panel assignments, and splitter port context. Teams rebuild connectivity in side spreadsheets because the map cannot answer operational questions.

Outages start with guessing instead of tracing

When a cable is cut or a closure fails, teams without strand-level inventory start with drive-bys and phone trees. MapItRight lets you trace from OLT to drop and see exactly where light loss stops.

How it works

How telecom asset management works in MapItRight

Catalog, map, connect, trace.

STEP 01

Define the plant your team uses

Set up cables, multiducts, and locations such as handholes, vaults, NIDs, and NAPs with the names and icons your operation already uses. Model patch panels, patch cords, splices, splitters, MUX/DEMUX, ONTs, and other equipment as first-class assets.

STEP 02

Map plant and fiber on Google Maps

Place locations, cables, and equipment with accurate coordinates, then draw fiber design and splice connectivity on the same map. Keep design plant in Planned state and live inventory in Active so future builds do not mix with operational records.

STEP 03

Trace paths and maintain the record

Trace light paths end to end to isolate faults, attach marker flags and field photos to assets, and export project data or BOM reports when procurement and operations need structured output from the live inventory.

Capabilities

What you can manage in MapItRight

Cables and multiducts

Route outside plant on the map with tube occupancy and nested duct structures.

Locations

Handholes, enclosures, racks, NIDs, PEDs, and service sites with custom types and icons.

Patch panels and patch cords

Track rack and closure patching with port assignments traced end to end.

Equipment and splices

Model splitters, MUX/DEMUX, OLTs, ONTs, and splice records with strand connectivity.

Light path tracing

Find breaks, bad splices, and the exact point where light loss stops during outages or design review.

Planned and Active states

Separate design plant from live operational inventory on the same map with clear lifecycle states.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

Telecom asset management software tracks the physical components of a fiber network
cables, strands, splice closures, splitters, OLTs, ONTs, and drops
with connectivity, not just a parts list. MapItRight is built for outside plant so you can trace paths, manage inventory on Google Maps, and keep design and operations on one record.
